Dr. Manami Kawakita

A Long Beach native, Dr. Manami Kawakita has always had a thing for animals. She grew up caring for stray dogs, cats, lizards, and caterpillars as a kid and still does to this day. During her time at veterinary school, she gained a taste for medicine in the form of a rotating internship that spanned both emergency and specialty medicine. Having now spent several years in the industry, she is excited to have joined the Long Beach Animal Emergency team as Medical Director. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the city and riding a jet ski. She is also a proud owner of four cats.

Dr. Corrie Beeh was born and raised in Long Beach CA, where she developed a passion for caring for animals at an early age. After working as a veterinary technician, she realized that her true calling was in veterinary medicine. She earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the Western University of Health Sciences, and then completed a year-long small animal emergency and critical care internship in Orange County.

She is the medical director of Long Beach Animal Emergency and also an associate veterinarian for a multi-specialty practice. She enjoys treating a wide range of patients, and particularly interests in trauma, wound management, sepsis, soft tissue surgery, and intensive care medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her favorite sports, traveling, crafting, & enjoying the SoCal sunshine.
